Scaling Up's Mission
We envision a global reduction in stress and trauma symptoms through collective healing by utilizing EMDR-based individual and group interventions.
Our mission is to alleviate suffering by building a world with accessible and affordable mental health services by using EMDR and AIP-informed individual and group interventions.
EMDR therapy has the power and the potential to help treat and heal humanities wounded memories.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences or traumatic events.
The World Health Organization considers EMDR therapy an advanced technique that "helps people reduce vivid, unwanted, repeated recollections of traumatic events." They recommend more training and supervision to make this technique more widely available.
In person and online training programs are provided for therapists, humanitarian and nonprofit workers, and others in the helping profession:
Trainings for non-mental health professionals to learn an AIP-Informed Therapy approach in the form of a research project
EMDR Therapy Protocols for Early Intervention & Ongoing Traumatic Stress, only for EMDR clinicians.

GROUP INTERVENTIONS UTILIZING EMDR
We plan to scale up behavioral health interventions in order for nonprofit organizations and mental health practitioners to offer accessible, effective, and cost-efficient services for a large number of clients.
EDUCATION & AWARENESS
We aim to educate practitioners and organizations about offering trauma-informed care and effective behavioral health interventions for clients.
We strive to contribute to effective, evidenced-based research related to EMDR therapy and other promising trauma interventions for clients.
